There’s a point in almost every creative project when all you can hear is static—too many ideas, too many open tabs, and too many voices telling you what something should be. You know there’s something worth finding in there, but where?
And then, sometimes, the signal breaks through.
That’s the frequency I had in mind for this month’s playlist. Static & Signal has a little more electricity than the last few playlists, with distorted guitars, electronic pulses, and songs that build slowly, while others arrive with their edges intact. There are familiar artists, but I’ve wandered deeper into their albums for some of the tracks I love that don’t always get the attention they deserve.
It’s music for putting your head down and following an idea wherever it takes you—for tuning out the noise long enough to hear what’s underneath.
